Deleting your data

There is no account to close

The app has never asked for an email address, a password or a payment method, and there is nothing to unsubscribe from. A nickname and a four-digit PIN is the whole of what a family gives it.

Doing it yourself

The fastest route, and the one that needs nobody's help:

  1. Open the app and type the grown-up's PIN on the front screen. That opens the page for grown-ups.
  2. Remove a player deletes one child: their monster, their stars, every answer they have given, and their PIN.
  3. Delete everything removes the whole household: every player, the family code, and the list of devices that were joined to it.

Both ask you to type a word to confirm, then happen immediately. Neither can be undone, because there is no copy anywhere else and nothing is moved to a bin first. Deleting the app from a device also removes the copy of the game held on that device.

Asking us to do it

If you cannot get in — a forgotten grown-up's PIN is the usual reason — write to the address at the bottom of this page and we will do it for you.

We hold no email addresses, so there is nothing to match your message against. Tell us the players' nicknames and roughly when you started, and we will ask a question or two to be sure it is your household before anything is deleted. Requests are answered within a month, and in practice within a day or two.

What is deleted

What is kept afterwards, and for how long

Nothing that belongs to a family. Deleting a household leaves no row anywhere with a nickname, a monster or an answer in it.

There is one unrelated record, and it is worth naming rather than leaving out: starting a new household is the one thing a complete stranger can do, so the server counts how many have been started from one place, to stop somebody running a script at it. What it stores is an irreversible scramble of the address — never the address itself — it is never connected to a player or a family, and it is deleted after two days whether anybody asks or not.

If you are in the EU or the UK

You have the right to see what is held about you, to have it corrected, and to have it erased. The two buttons above are the fastest route to all three. You can also write, and a request will be answered within a month.
